Biochemistry & Biophysics

Bioinformatics
The FAES Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Department offers basic programming courses in Perl and Python, in order to help analyze the data currently produced by high-throughput technologies. The department also offers practical and applied bioinformatics courses in biological sequence and macromolecular analysis.
Biology & Genetics
The Department of Biology and Genetics offers a range of undergraduate and graduate level courses in General Biology; Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology; Neurobiology and Neuroanatomy; Bioinformatics; Genetic Counseling and Clinical Molecular Genetics.
Biotechnology
Bio-Trac is a series of lecture and hands-on laboratory training courses being given at the NIH. Team-taught by active researchers; these 3, 4, and 5 day programs offer the latest information in specific areas of biotechnology. Each course participant receives a comprehensive binder containing the lecture material presented in the workshop along with lab protocols and reference materials.

Immunology & Microbiology
This department offers a number of courses in immunology including a course on basic principles in immunology and courses on molecular and cellular mechanisms in immunity.
Languages
In supporting the important missions and education activities of FAES, the language department offers many language classes, including English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Italian, and Chinese. The educational continuum is to provide introductory and basic learning impetus, into more practical applications and effective communication skills in reading, writing, and verbal expression. Each class is organized by optimal teacher/student ratio in order to synergize individual needs and requirements.

This department offers a number of useful courses covering areas like experimental statistics, epidemiology and statistics for biomedical students.

This department offers a range of Medical Science courses in subjects such as Endocrinology, Physiology, Global Health & Disease Mechanisms and Clinical Research.
Pharmacology & Toxicology
The Pharmacology & Toxicology Department of FAES offers a variety of courses and lecture series for those interested in the principles and practice of pharmacology and toxicology. Team-taught by experienced researchers, clinicians and educators; these courses offer the latest information in specific areas of pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, Chinese herbal medicine, and toxicology. Online resources and lecture material are available for students enrolled in the respective courses.
