FAES offers a voluntary Dental Plan that is an out of pocket expense to the subscriber. New hires are eligible to enroll within 30 days of their entrance to duty at the NIH. The effective date of  Coverage and premium will be determined at the time of enrollment. If the new hire opts not to enroll within the first 30 days of being hired, their next opportunity to enroll would be during Open Enrollment, which is conducted every November with an effective date of January 1st.
